The SEAS Office of Computing offers consultation for SEAS-related website creation, user experience, responsiveness, accessibility, and web content for SEAS-affiliated and eligible scholars and lab/group websites.
Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) provides two Harvard website platforms - HarvardSites WordPress (also known as CampusPress) and HarvardSites Drupal. Website administration support is available via HWP Office Hours.
Scholars and Lab/Group Websites
To request a new website, please review and complete the form Request a HarvardSites Website (HarvardKey login required). Once your request is reviewed and approved by SEAS, HWP will provision your website and provide instructions and resources for accessing and maintaining it.
Below are some resources to keep in mind for Harvard and SEAS-affiliated websites.
- Sensitive Data: Do not publish or store sensitive data on public websites. Please refer to the Harvard data classification table for information on Harvard data levels.
- Copyright: Abide by trademark, copyright, and other applicable laws. Visit HWP Terms of Use for details and resources.
- Video Accessibility: All videos posted on websites must be captioned. Visit Harvard Multimedia Accessibility for guidance and resources.
- Website Accessibility: To ensure your website is accessible, review the Harvard Digital Accessibility Get Started page and enroll in the Digital Accessibility for Content Creators training (HarvardKey login required).
- SEAS Branding and Media: For resources about SEAS branding, photography, media usage, and social media presence, visit the SEAS Office of Communications.

Canvas is the learning management system for course websites at Harvard. HUIT Academic Technology also offers a range of additional technologies to support teaching and learning.
