Pooja Chandrashekar, A.B. ‘19, has been selected as a L’Oréal Paris Woman of Worth.
Chandrashekar studied bioengineering at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), and is now in the MD/MBA program at Harvard.
She received the honor for her work as founder of ProjectCSGIRLS, an international nonprofit dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and computer science. ProjectCSGIRLS organizes competitions that challenge middle-school girls to come up with technology-based solutions to social problems in their communities, and also offers workshops and mentorship opportunities.
Breen’s Perygee nominated for Tech Company of the Year
Mollie Breen, MS/MBA ‘20, founded Perygee to help organizations with legacy technology maintain data security. Her start-up offers a no code security solution that can be customized to specific devices.
Perygee was recently nominated for the 2021 Emerging Tech Company of the Year Award by the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA).
Gaglani’s Osmosis acquired by Elsevier
Osmosis, a company founded by Shiv Gaglani, A.B. ‘10, has been acquired by Elsevier, a publishing company specializing in scientific, medical and technical resources. Osmosis is an online medical and health education company, which uses visual learning aids such as animated videos and flashcards to help students and future healthcare professionals retain information.
“Given how important it is now to train healthcare providers as well as improve public health literacy, we're confident that this partnership will help us build upon the work we're doing with 150+ medical, nursing, and related schools, as well as organizations like the CDC, YouTube, Thrive Global, 23andMe, and the J&J Foundation,” Gaglani said.
