Bryan Wilder, Ph.D. ’21 (computer science) is one of 28 early-career scientists elected to the 2021 cohort of Schmidt Science Fellows.
Wilder’s research develops AI and machine learning approaches for public health applications, and he now plans to focus on tools to support rapid responses to future epidemics. The Schmidt Science Fellows program brings together the brightest minds who have completed a Ph.D. in the natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computing, and places them in a postdoctoral fellowship in a field different from their existing expertise.
Wilder will join the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University as an assistant professor in the fall of 2022.
