David Sullivan, A.B. ’90 (physics), S.M. ’99 (computer science), Ph.D. ’03 (computer science), Master Lecturer in Computer Science and Director of Peer Education and Assessment at the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences, has been named a 2021 Metcalf Award Winner.
He was honored for his creativity, innovation, and commitment as a teacher and mentor. Sullivan joined the BU faculty in 2006 and was appointed to the rank of master lecturer in 2018.
The Metcalf Awards for Excellence in Teaching are among Boston University’s highest teaching awards. Winners are selected by a university committee based on statements describing nominees’ teaching philosophy, supporting letters from colleagues and students, and classroom observation of the nominees.
