Harvard President Lawrence Bacow has approved Robin Wordsworth, Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering, to the role of full professor with tenure at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the Department of Earth and Planetary Science.
Wordsworth’s research is focused on the processes that shape planetary climate and habitability, both in the Solar System and around other stars. Recently, his work has explored ways to identify potentially habitable planets outside our solar system; understanding the circumstances under which life could have emerged on Mars; defining the lower limit for planet size habitability; and developing materials to make Mars habitable.
Wordsworth completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham and his PhD at the University of Oxford. He joined SEAS in 2015. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Grant and a Climate Change Solutions Fund grant.
