Gil receives Amazon Research Award

Stephanie Gil, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences has received a 2020 Amazon Research Award. The award will support Gil’s research into developing the next generation of coordinated multi-robot systems.

The Amazon Research Awards provide unrestricted funds and AWS Promotional Credits to academic researchers investigating research topics across a number of disciplines. Each award is intended to support the work of one to two graduate students or postdoctoral students for one year, under the supervision of a faculty member.

Gil joined SEAS in 2020. Her research focuses primarily on improving multi-robot coordination and communication. Gil’s research looks at ways to use communication signals to improve communication in multi-robot teams, enhance situational awareness, and secure core multi-agent algorithms – taking multi-robot systems one step closer to deployment in real-world environments, for example as autonomous Amazon delivery vehicles in the future.

Gil has also received an NSF CAREER award and Sloan Research Fellowship.
