Stephanie Wilson, S.B. ’88 (engineering sciences), is one of 18 astronauts who will train for NASA’s upcoming Artemis Missions, which aim to send humans back to the moon and, eventually, to Mars.
Nine women are on the Artemis team, which is one of the most diverse NASA has put together. The space agency has committed to sending its first woman to walk on the moon, possibly as early as 2024.
Wilson was selected by NASA as an astronaut in 1996 and has logged more than 42 days in space on three space shuttle missions in 2007 and 2010.
