Le Xie, S.M. ’05 (engineering sciences), has been awarded the 2017 Outstanding Young Engineering Award from the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power & Energy Society (PES) for his contributions to power systems analytics and leadership in big data.
Xie, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, received a $2,000 scholarship, a plaque, and a travel stipend of up to $1,000 to attend the PES meeting and awards ceremony, which will be held in July in Chicago.
He joined the Texas A&M faculty in 2010 and currently focuses his research on modeling and control of large-scale complex systems, smart grid applications in support of renewable energy integration, and electricity markets
