Lisa Gualtieri, Ph.D. '89 (computer science) has been appointed to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's General Hospital and Personal Use Devices Panel.
The panel reviews and evaluates data concerning the safety and effectiveness of marketed and investigational general hospital, infection control, and personal use devices, and makes appropriate recommendations to the commissioner of food and drugs.
Gualtieri, assistant professor of public health and community medicine at Tufts University, recently launched a nonprofit organization, Recyclehealth.com, that collects unwanted wearable activity trackers and provides them to the underserved.
