Ling Qin, a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering Sciences (Electrical Engineering), in the Donhee Ham Research Group, has won the 2011 Analog Devices (ADI) Outstanding Student Designer Award.
He was honored for "academic excellence and research promise."
Qin, who earned his B.S. at Tsinghua University and ranked first in his class, conducts research on low-dimensional plasmonic circuits and solid-state bio-system interfaces.
The Analog Devices Outstanding Student Designer Award is primarily intended for graduate students, but any exceptionally qualified undergraduate can receive the award.
The award is for excellence in analog or digital IC design, as well as excellence in class work, project, or thesis work and the potential for outstanding industrial contribution.
A cash award of $1500 and an award certificate will be made directly to the student at the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference 2011.
