Meet David Sengeh, Harvard College Class of 2010, and one of his mentors, David Edwards, Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering.
This summer, Sengeh is collaborating with a team of fellow Harvard students determined to “light” sub-Saharan Africa using microbial fuel — or ‘dirt-powered’— cell-based lighting systems.
The team was awarded a $200,000 grant from the World Bank to realize the project.
