Computer scientist Matt Welsh has found another mountain to climb - a volcano to be precise

Network World reports on Welsh and his teams' blow-out as they were gathering records of seismic activity on Reventador, an active volcano located in northern Ecuador. The group deploys a wireless sensor mesh network to collect their data, which, as they found out, is not without its risks when a volcano decides to blow its top. In the future, Welsh hopes to create a big enough mesh to create a 3-D view of the entire volcano.
